2019 Ford F-150 Raptor

The Ford F-150 Raptor is the only truck to come straight from the factory decked out in desert race attire. A twin-turbo V6 engine, long-travel suspension, and 35-inch tires are just a few attributes that make the truck a legend. And for 2019, the off-road icon gets even better with a few thoughtful improvements.

2019 Ford F-150 Raptor

In 2017, the Raptor was completely redesigned. As a result, it carried over virtually unchanged last year. That makes 2019 the perfect time for upgrades. For the upcoming year, the race-ready pickup gets new shocks with continuous damping control. Plus, there's new Recaro racing seats and a color called Ford Performance Blue.

Design

There’s no mistaking the Raptor for any other F-150 model. Its exterior features light-weight aluminum that has been carefully formed into pre-runner-style fenders. Meanwhile, a menacing blacked-out grille, and distinct headlamps announce the truck’s arrival. A wide, aggressive stance completes the bold look.

The dynamic styling carries over into the driver-centric cockpit. New-for-2019 Recaro racing seats provide exceptional support during high-speed maneuvers, while also adding a sense of athleticism to the cabin. The seats come as part of an available package that also includes carbon-fiber trim for the doors, dash, and shifter.

Many performance-oriented vehicles are spartan – but not the Raptor. Inside the truck, the latest creature comforts are right at your fingertips. Key amenities include available heated and ventilated seats, along with optional heated rear seats. Dual-zone climate control is also optional, as is ambient lighting.

Performance

Sure, the 2019 Ford F-150 Raptor looks great, but its what’s under that aluminum sheet metal that counts. Awe-inspiring performance comes from a twin-turbocharged EcoBoost 3.5L V6 engine making 450 hp and 510 lb.-ft.

All that power is sent through a 10-speed automatic transmission to a four-wheel drive layout. A Terrain Management System provides exact-fit performance with six different driving modes. Outback, you’ll find an electronic locking rear differential with 4.10 gears. A Torsen differential is also available.

Underneath, a fully-boxed frame provides the ideal mounting point for the Raptor’s long-travel suspension. High-flying off-road antics are made possible with unique front control arms and 35-in. (315/70 R17) BF Goodrich All-Terrain Tires. Beadlock- capable wheels are also offered.

Finally, for 2019, the undercarriage gets new electronically controlled live-valve Fox Racing Shox with infinite compressions for continuous damping.

Technology

No off-road adventure is complete without tunes, which is why the Raptor is offered with the SYNC3 infotainment system and a Kicker Subwoofer.

Plenty of driver-assistance functions are onboard as well. Rear parking sensors come standard for backing in and out of tight spaces. Optional highlights include available adaptive cruise control, blind-spot monitoring and forward collision warning. Plus, there’s lane departure warning with assist, rear traffic alert, and a 360-degree camera.
