The Ford Transit Connect is the ultimate compact work vehicle – and for 2019, the best gets even better with a slew of upgrades. You can find the durable van right here in Hawthorne, CA, at South Bay Ford Commercial.
The 2019 Ford Transit Connect
The 2019 Ford Transit Connect is offered as either a Passenger Wagon or a Cargo Van. Three trim levels are available on the Wagon: XL, XLT and Titanium (the Cargo Van is offered only in XL and XLT). Plus, there’s the choice of either a short or long wheelbase.
For 2019, the van gets several updates including new engine options and enhanced standard features.
Both Passenger and Cargo versions of the Transit Connect offer unique European styling unlike anything else on the road. A bold front grille sits up front, while sweeping lines run the length of the vehicle.
But the exterior is about more than just good looks – it’s also functional. A built-in side wind stabilization system uses sensors to monitor breezes and automatically apply the brakes to steady the vehicle.
The interior is just as useful; up to seven passengers can fit comfortably inside the Transit Connect Wagon. Meanwhile, the Cargo Van is offered with many different interior layouts making it ideal for upfitting. Long wheelbase models have 127.4 cu. ft. of room behind the rear seats; short wheelbase models offer 104.8 cu. ft. Both versions provide a low, easy-loading floor and various easy-access door configurations.
From bumper to bumper, the Ford Transit Connect is engineered to maximize efficiency and capability. Power comes from one of two brand-new engine options: a 2.0L four-cylinder or a 1.5L EcoBlue Diesel. Automatic engine stop-start is built-in for improved fuel economy.
Both engine options are mated to a high-tech 6-speed automatic transmission. But what really sets the van apart is the fact it has front-wheel drive. The layout provides better traction and greater efficiency than rear-wheel drive.
When properly equipped, the Transit Connect has a 2,000 lb. towing capacity. Available Trailer Sway Control helps with pulling by determining sway and automatically adjusting
vehicle operation as needed. Maximum payload capacity is 1,570 lbs. for the long wheelbase Cargo Van model.*
The Ford Transit Connect can be had with an array of advanced technologies. The Passenger Wagon offers occupants full connectivity via the available SYNC3 infotainment system with integrated Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Both versions of the van are offered with FordPass Connect with built-in Wi-Fi, as well as wireless device charging. There’s also an EcoMode and an EcoCoach that monitor fuel economy and encourage efficient driving habits. Ford Telematics and Ford Data Services are available for fleet owners.
Keep your team safe with the latest advanced driver assistance technologies offered on the Ford Transit Connect. Available features include Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control and a Blind Spot Information System.
